Police arrested a JFK International Airport screener Thursday after she was allegedly caught stealing $5,000 in cash from a passenger who was going through his security checks, the Queens DA said.

Alexandra Schmid, 31, of Sumpter Street in Brooklyn, was released on her own recognizance and ordered to return to court next week after a judge arraigned her on several charges including  official misconduct, Queens DA Richard Brown said.

Schmid, who worked for the U.S. Transportation Security Agency for more than four years, allegedly stole the bills from the coat of  Momin Lultan Ahmed as it was getting x-rayed at Terminal 4 on Feb. 1,  according to the DA.

“Such conduct tarnishes the reputation of thousands of dedicated TSA agents who faithfully carry out their responsibilities each day,” he said in a statement.

The passenger discovered the missing cash after he went through the metal detectors and another TSA agent observed Schmid take the envelope that contained the money and place it in a blue latex glove, Brown said.

Schmid allegedly left with the cash and went to a bathroom but she was confronted by Port Authority cops who found her with the stolen cash, according to the DA.
