A Queens judge ordered five men and a woman to be placed behind bars yesterday after they were indicted on several charges for allegedly kidnapping, abusing and pimping a runaway Long Island teen for nearly a week, the Queens district attorney said.
“This is a horrific case in which the victim, a young girl, is alleged to have survived a nightmarish ordeal that included being drugged, gang raped and forced to work as a prostitute,” Queens DA Richard Brown said in a statement. “She is fortunate to have escaped.”
Prosecutors identified Gary Council, 22, of 91st Street in Ozone Park, as the alleged ringleader and Queens Supreme Court Justice Ferdinand M. Camacho ordered him to be held on $1 million bail on several charges including kidnapping, promoting prostitution, sex trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child.
His five co-defendants, Andrea Furlonge, 21, of 101st Avenue, Junior C. Goldring, 23, of East 52nd Street in Brooklyn, Omari A. Millington, 21, of East 42nd Street in Brooklyn, Renardo Williams, 22, of East 43rd Street in Brooklyn, and Roy McMillan, 24, of Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn, were ordered to be held on bail for similar charges, according to the DA.
Goldring picked up the unidentified 15-year-old girl from a street corner in Brooklyn on Feb. 6, the day she ran away from her Long Island home, Brown said.
He brought her to a house on 101st Avenue where she met Council and McMillian, but when the teen tried to leave, Council allegedly grabbed her by the arm and said, “You’re not going anywhere. You are going to stay here and make my money,” according to the DA.
Council introduced the girl to Furlonge who then took nude pictures of the victim and posted them on a website that advertised for prostitution services, Brown said.
For the next five days, the victim was forced to perform sexual acts with numerous men inside the house for money and was forced to give the cash to Council or Furlonge, the DA said.
Prosecutors contend the alleged pimps threatened the victim not to cry or try to leave the house. In one instance, Council grabbed the teen by the hair and took her out of the bathroom when she tried to shower, according to the DA.
On Feb. 8, Millington and Council forced the girl to take two Ecstasy pills, tied her up and, along with Goldring and Williams, gang raped her, Brown said. McMillan and a man who was not arrested as of Friday allegedly watched the entire act, according to the DA.
On Feb. 12, the girl was able to run away after Council asked her to go to a store and get some food, the DA said.
McMillian, Council and Furlonge were allegedly squatting in the Ozone Park home for several weeks, even after the house’s owner, Tsung Chen, changed the locks in January, according to Brown.
Prosecutors contend that on Feb. 10, Chen ordered the trio to leave his property but they allegedly told him they would leave if he paid them $6,000 each.
If convicted on all of his charges, Council faces 25 years to life in prison, Brown said. Furlonge, Goldring and Millington each face up to 25 years in prison for their criminal counts.
McMillian, who was not indicted on sex crimes but charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia, burglary and endangering the welfare of a child charges, faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, if convicted.
