Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo lashed out at ConEd and other utilities Monday for their slow response a week after the storm.

Although 480,000 ConEd customers in the city are still in the dark, which was down from 2.1 million at the peak of the outage, Cuomo called the utility’s work “inadequate.”

“God never said New York will have these utilities forever,” a visibly perturbed governor said. “But you have a service and it has to be fair, and professional … I believe handling one of these situations is part of these services.”
